Standard Terms and Conditions | Interpreting

If business oportunity doesn't knock, build a door through communication

Our standard terms and conditions outline the major professional presumptions every client must take into consideration when hiring a Semantica-RSI interpreter so that they can enjoy a perfectly executed interpretation service in line with the highest professional standards in the industry and Semantica-RSI’s own elevated vision of personalized language assistance philosophy.

  • All simultaneous interpreting assignments are executed by a team of two interpreters.
    • Half a translation day is up to 3 hours of interpreting from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
    • One translation day is 6 hours of interpreting or a total of 8 presence hours incl. 1-hour lunch break and 2 coffee breaks of 30 minutes each.
  • Consecutive interpreting assignments over 3 hours are executed by a team of two interpreters.
  • The half-day minimum rule applies.
  • It is advised to book the service as early as possible (5 to 10 days in advance); for next-day or same-day bookings, the fee is to be negotiated separately. (For international and high-level events – at least 10 days in advance).
  • 10 minutes after the requested hour is considered another fully booked hour. The time of the interpreter is paid for in line with the agreement whether or not there is interpreting per se. (The travel time is considered working hours but depending on the specific task, the interpreter’s fee can be 50% of the full-hour/day fee, but not less than a 4 working-hours fee).
  • With last-minute cancellations* we follow the standard provisions, detailed in the Interpreting Service Agreement.
  • Events outside of Sofia – the client provides the transport, accommodation, and all relevant expenses of the interpreter/the team.
  • As a courtesy to our clients, Semantica-RSI does not price additionally for the direction of the interpreting (English to Bulgarian or vice versa).

*Please, keep in mind that the list of terms and conditions is not exhaustive and the complete list will be fully elaborated in the individual Interpreting Service Agreement.
